Savorgnan de Brazza was an Bougainville-class aviso of the French Navy. The ship was launched in 1931 and designed to operate from French colonies in Asia and Africa. On 9 November 1940, a case of fratricide battle between two ships of the same class occurred when the Savorgnan de Brazza serving for the Free French forces, heavily damaged the Bougainville, which was loyal to the Vichy government.[1]
